NETC@RDS service deployment is widened accross Europe

Since February 2010 the NETC@RDS service is deployed in Romania where a new Service Unit has been recently launched. The number of Service Points have increased in Hungary from 4 to 26 and in Italy from 87 to 97. The total running Service Units is now amounting up to 260 with 556 running Service Points.

New NETC@RDS Service Sites in The Netherlands and Slovakia

On November 20, 2008 an on-line NETC@RDS service site has been launched in Slovakia. With 3 running service points the site is located at the Fakultná nemocnica Nitra (Faculty Hospital of Nitra).

From December 15th onwards NETC@RDS services are now running in 7 Dutch hospitals. In these service sites EHIC data are keyed-in; depending on the findings and ambitions of Dutch health care providers, automatic data capture will be considered in due course. In this stage, NETC@RDS is provided as a "stand alone service".

As soon as the NETC@RDS consortium supports the application of web services, the Dutch team will integrate the NETC@RDS service in the Netherlands within the VECOZO architecture. In the Netherlands, this is a critical success factor for getting more support for NETC@RDS from Dutch health care providers.

New service sites in Slovakia

New NETC@RDS service sites have been launched in Slovakia recently. While the previous tendency has been to focus on hospitals only, this time two pharmacies have also been taken on board. Further NETC@RDS service points will also be operating during the European football championship (EUROPA 2008) in Switzerland this summer.

These recent achievements of the NETC@RDS project follow the earlier works, which have developed and tested practical solution implementations for the electronic European Health Insurance Card (eEHIC) in pilot regions of 10 Members States. The currently running Initial Deployment phase plans to add new sites in 15 European countries to a total of 305 service sites (566 service points) to enable "non-planned" health care for European citizens who provide evidence of entitlement.

The list of all service points is available online at: http://www.zi-berlin.de/netcards/pilots.htm

New service points launched in France and Germany

The initial deployment phase of NETC@RDS project is now under way. This is aimed at achieving the widest implementation of an online service for the announced electronic European Health Insurance Card (eEHIC). The existing service, already successfully tested – market validation phase – in 85 pilots across 10 EU Member States, will be progressively extended to enable “non-planned” health care access for European mobile citizens who provide evidence of entitlement in any of the 305 project service sites across the 15 participating European countries. Among these, new service points at Hôpital Saint-Roch in Nice (France) and in the Lörrach area (Germany, French/Swiss border), involving 5 ambulatories care and 2 hospitals, have been recently inaugurated.
