NETC@RDS Gala, Abbaye de l’Epau - Le Mans, 6 November 2008

The NETC@RDS gala has been organised by the GIE-SESAME Vitale and the CNPS in cooperation with the French Department of Sarthe under the French Presidency of the EU with the aim of raising awareness of the regional government authorities and politicians of the project relevance in terms of deployed services, innovation for the healthcare system and transnational cooperation supported by EU programmes. 
 
    
 
Opened by the Vice-president of the General Council of Sarthe, Mr. Dominique LE MENER, the workshop has received a welcome video-message by Mme Roselyne BACHELOT-NARQUIN, French Minister for Health, highlighting the strategic importance of the project in the EU and national policy framework devoted to patient mobility and cross-border continuity of care. Mr. Jacques De VARAX, SESAM-Vitale General Director, has pointed out the coordination role played by the GIE, while Mr. Roberto ZUFFADA, Regione Lombardia, has focused on the weight to assign to a full integration of the NETC@RDS application with the regional/National eHealth developments. Mr. Pascal COLLOTTE, Project Officer for the Netc@rds for eEHIC ID project, gave a presentation on the impact of the project so far and the continuity between the eTEN and the CIP ICT PSP Community Programmes.  He also briefly presented the main points of Commissioner Reding's opening speech in Copenhagen at the World of Health IT Conference on 4-6 November on the importance of ensuring interoperability to respond to the need to share information within and across borders and de-fragmenting the eHealth market.
